"After the birth of my son, I discovered a new world as I ventured through this life changing experience called motherhood. It was a beautiful, yet challenging time. It was then that I understood how crucial it is to have support from other women during this new chapter of life. Since then I have focused my practice on working with new families and first time mothers immediately..."
Kelly was a lifesaver for our family. When our first born arrived my husband and I made the decision that we didn’t want to work with a baby nurse. We had a lot of help from our family and we figured that would be enough. But we soon thought otherwise. Despite all of our research and planning, a couple of weeks after our son was born we found ourselves with many questions and not many answers. Various opinions from friends and contradicting information in books only left us feeling more confused and desperate. Enter Kelly. What made Kelly such an appealing choice for us was that she works with the entire family in order to best help your infant. Rather than take over in the caretaking of our little one she helped us to care for him by teaching us, modeling for us, and encouraging us in our new role as parents. I’m very picky about the kind of people I share my personal space with and I immediately felt a sense of ease with Kelly. She seamlessly joined our team and developed great relationships with our extended families and most especially with our little boy. Her gentle and reassuring nature helped bring a sense of peace and calm into an otherwise sometimes chaotic situation. And a sense of calm goes a long way with a newborn and with a new mom! Kelly is a one-stop shop. Her expertise is varied; she is versed in infant and child development, lactation issues, sleeping techniques and more. She was instrumental in helping me set a nursing and pumping schedule that would allow me to continue breastfeeding when I returned to work. She also continued to work with our family past my son’s four month birthday and helped immensely with setting a sleep routine for naps and nighttime sleep. She also has done overnights for us here and there when we’ve needed a full night’s sleep. When you invite Kelly into your home and family, you are getting a doula, a lactation consultant, and a baby nurse all in one. I can’t say enough about my experience working with Kelly.
